Earlier this year, writer Rick Riordan revealed that his series of novels, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, will be used as a series for Disney+. All five books will be filmed, one season per book. The writer himself and his wife Becky are going to personally take part in the work on the series.
Now, according to the writer, another series based on his works is being prepared. On his website, Riordan announced that his other book series, Heirs of the Gods, will be a Netflix series:
We have been working on this agreement since October last year, around the same time negotiations began on Percy. And I’m so glad to be able to report it now. That’s all I can say at the moment, but stay tuned to my site.
The events of the “Heirs of the Gods” cycle take place in the same world and at the same time as the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” cycle. But if Percy turns out to be a descendant of the ancient Greek god Poseidon and is involved in adventures based on ancient Greek mythology, then the plot of “Heirs of the Gods” is built around ancient Egyptian mythology. The main characters, brother and sister Carter and Sadie Kane, learn that they are descendants of an ancient magical family descended from the pharaohs Narmer and Ramses. And as a result, the gods of Egypt, Mountains and Isis, live in their souls. And in their father is Osiris.
