I believe in time this global pandemic will be remembered as the greatest truths story ever told, told eventually by the victors and in turn amended and re-amended over time to suit the agenda of a given period.
What struck me was how relevant that memorable line from the 1995 cult movie “The Usual Suspects” on the existence or non-existence of the Devil sits within the context of the Covid -19 construct.
What if Covid -19 didn’t really existed. It was conceptual thought of one person or two, an imaginary work of a strategic thinktank, a multi -layered painted masterpiece of unmoral fabrication, of political and scientific truths fused into one big media dog metanarrative. Covid-19 a story with more truths than a true story. Less fiction than Pulp fiction, more friction than none-fiction, a story that contorts, contradicts, reinvents and continues its serial killing spree.
Storytelling, when written well is an exercise in the transmission of truth statements rather than true statements and the best are those that make no sense no matter how they are told. The truth is constant eternal and absolute. Then the concept of what is true is evolving, shifting and milky.
As an addictive captive encased inside a story of such a global shattering magnitude one must choose very carefully which source is close to the true source as a measure of truth, which single narrative would you choose to follow the red or the green pill?
The summer of 1783, people witnessed a “peculiar haze, or smokey fog” that appeared across Europe and created a “superstitious kind of dread”. The English poet William Cowper wrote of that twilight summer with a sickly foreboding
The props and pillars of our planet seem to fail,
And nature with a dim and sickly eye
To wait the close of all.
Spring 2020 for Europhiles based beyond their birthplace a similar “peculiar haze, or smokey fog” has descended across the world and created a “superstitious kind of dread”. As unnatural as the one William Cowper witnessed only this one had already been foreseen, filed and dismissed. Now knowingly or unknowingly released, a pale faceless horseman single minded in its purpose to entrench itself fully as the New World Government of Occupation.
I Won’t Say the ‘C’ Word. Covid-19.
I won’t mention it, I won’t say it, I can’t say it, I cannot mouth the ‘C” word, the word of the day the word of the year, the word of the decade if we ever see the end of the decade. The biggest and most dangerous brand in the world. The ‘C’ word hovers around me, increasingly growing angry swarms of mindless illiterate feverish calf fatted mosquitoes feeding off endless racks of raw soundbites, ribs of unsubstantiated figures and facts, where sacrificial numbers don’t add up, only the growing fatality rate.
Feeding the Frenzy. Covid-19.
Each minute, each hour an endless parade of Covid-19 stories basted up in a gauntlet of free airtime, spun emotion and tears that boomerang each time with a different take, a different theory, a whole different ball game spinning to its own rules.
The Covid-19 story is the biggest global blockbuster seller of current history and as a global audience we are trapped in the middle stalls we are both cast as the cast and audience finding ourselves trapped within, each of us destined to play our part for better or worst. Like millions of others I want to reset 2020 and wake up on New Year’s Day.
To the ‘C’ word there is no line it won’t cross, can’t cross, will never cross. Consistently biting and stinging with tales of apocalyptic death, economic meltdown, famine and shortages. A rolling gathering snowball of media consumption, sucking up every little flake of unsubstantiated facts and figures, a predictive intelligence of miscomprehension, renouncement and redemption.
Blindsided by The Hype. Covid-19.
Story telling has the power to change the destiny of a person, a corporate, a country and ultimately the fate of our world and like its ‘best friend forever’ Covid 19 is almost invisible to the people it impacts on. When a great story sells a truth, the audience experience it on a diversity of levels intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual, and probably a combination of all.
We sit captive in our imposed lockdown distilling the finite treads of truth under the evening warmth of white noise, a large screen HD, the soft glowing hum of a laptop, the blinging of cells, internal campfires for the soul that shield and numb the circling mind wolves questioning the reality of questions we dare not ask.
I have one request of you. Ask those questions, be the change that changes history. Tweet your perceptions. Hashtag # Covid-19 Don’t starve us of real intelligence.
I Want to Believe. Covid-19.
I have seen unfold in many films, documentaries and autobiographies the term ‘Based on a true story’ implying the creation of a story with changes to the storyline to suit the audience’s understanding and expectations. Portrayed to entertain the audience and dramatizes certain events for that purpose, enter backstage Covid-19. The biggest and most universally detested brand on the planet. A cheap nasty malevolent backstreet virus created by alchemists with ageist issues.
I want to believe what I read, what I viewed, to understand and assimilate that the truths being broadcast. I follow the corporate tail, I stay isolated, I follow the prescribe social measuring for washing my hands in the time it takes to sing happy birthday, two choruses (Another piece of UK Government Prozac tainted scientific methodology.) I Keep my social distancing to 2 meters while no longer making eye contact another human when engaging.
There is no public tolerance for sneezing, high temperatures or activities associated with simple human deficiencies such as summer or winter colds. Shopping within set times for the bare essentials dressed as an extra from W.W.Z or Chernobyl. Even Gorge Orwell never imagined life like this beyond 1984.
I want to believe, a poster hanging in a basement office of a truth seeker of sorts, Fox Mulder, the X-Files a TV series of conspiracies and coverups. How could I now believe the Covid -19 existing state of affairs after I viewed the following link.
UK Column News-25th March 2020.
https://www.ukcolumn.org/communicatio/live
The UK Column News video embraced the philosophy of KISS (Keep it simple, stupid.) Two respected senior talking heads in a news studio, dissecting the information and pictorials in simple terms, clean and with perfect clarity of communication, no side distractions fancy SFX, designer loaded graphics, or cutting away to latest hot zone, I understood I believed and felt good. a twinge of shameless optimism in the darkness.
I watched the clip several times and yet I felt something wasn’t right, a slight sense of unease, intuition, my guardian angel whispering to my inner voice, it triggered something I had seen decades earlier those eerie black and white educational movies shown during the 1950s in American and British schools during the cold war “What to do in the event of a nuclear attack.”
The 3 minute warning alarm goes off . Unperturbed children and students calmly lifting their desktops putting their textbooks away then kneeing down tucking themselves deep underneath the rows of synchronised mass fabricated desks, patiently silently waiting for the big flash, bang, wallop then normality “let’s continue with our lesson’s children, books out.”
This new clip seemed to be a contemporary take on that same paradigm, a media fed white lie, a mild sedative for a nation on the brink of self-implosion another truths story. And still I wanted to believe. The truth was out there but beyond my peripheral vision.
I backtracked the links prescribed and followed the trail of breadcrumbs, the more I listened the less I understood. The seeds of my self-doubt were beginning to break the surface.

To be continued hopefully…
The Real Avengers Assembled. Covid-19.
Remember all those self -help books and spiritual advice about living in the present, embracing the moment, the power of now? Well, todays reality is real being present is very difficult. The present is where we are and we’re not in a good space. In the jargon of Hollywood if Thanos represents Covid-19 then the Avengers the real Avengers are the nurses, medics. the supermarket workers and all those selflessly fighting on your behalf on the front line, bigger and stronger than the Avengers, they are truly the real Superheroes.
REST IN PEACE TONY
